Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Jack Fisher

As a member of the Bridgeport community, it is my honor and privilege to serve as your high school principal. We have such a strong and proud legacy within our school, and I could not be luckier than to be able to support, guide, and build on that as we move forward. In the community that I live and in the school district that I am fortunate to raise my own children, I look forward to continuing my work with everyone foster a culture that is positive, engaging, and supports everyone.

As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, I look forward to continuing to build an environment that supports and challenges our students. I believe that it is our job as a school to ensure that we set our students up for success by challenging them and providing them with opportunities for growth, whether that be through our College Credit Plus courses, our own rigorous course selection, our athletics, and much more. At Bridgeport, we challenge our students and ensure that they are prepared for any avenue they choose after graduation.

I also want to make sure that our students feel a sense of connectedness to their school and community. This can be seen through our support of student engagement within our athletics and extracurricular activities. I encourage our students to be part of a sport, a team, a club, the band, and any of the many options we have at Bridgeport. I want to see our students involved, building relationships with each other, and building a sense of connection and pride in their school. It is important to me that our students feel welcome and that they truly belong here at Bridgeport.

During the 24-25 school year, our seniors will now be participating in a Senior Service Learning class. The purpose of this class is tied closely with my desire to have our students connected to their school and community. Our seniors will choose a topic relating to Bridgeport and conduct research and gather information on this topic during the course. A topic could be researching an historic area of Bridgeport and looking into the history and meaning, or a topic could be researching how past or present members of the school and community have affected change and influenced Bridgeport and/or the world around them. The goal is for our students to learn more about their school and community and to have a sense of pride and connection to where they live, grow, and learn.

As always, my relationships with staff, students, parents, and guardians are vital to me. I am committed to having open communication and collaboration with everyone. The best way for us to grow and succeed is by working together. I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. Together, we can build a partnership that supports the academic and personal growth of all our students.

I’m looking forward to a great year. Have a great day and Go Dogs!

Jack Fisher, Principal
