Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the website of the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District. I hope that you find our website as one that is easy to access and helpful in all that you need. Our school district has a saying “All In” and I am confident that this website will display why parents continue to choose Bridgeport as the school district for their children.

Despite COVID-19, our school district has remained student focused. Bridgeport has and will continue to do what is best for its students. This is evident through our refresh of our student iPads for this school year. Thanks to some additional funding through the state, we were able to extend our 1:1 initiative to grades 3-12 for the 2020-2021 school year. Grades PS-2 will have increased accessibility to utilize iPads through our iPad carts while at school. Instructionally, we have also purchased a new K-8 th grade math curriculum which will align with the updated iPads. We are also doing a 3-year phase-in upgrade to our classroom smart boards which will enhance what we can do instructionally within the classroom while linking them into our student iPads. Our focus this year is to make instruction seamless. Regardless of whether we are in school 5 days per week, on a hybrid schedule, or 100% remote learning from home, our instructional approach will be one that is consistent for students and parents.

The culture here at Bridgeport is one that supportive and trusting. We will be known for loving and inspiring every student and faculty member. During the past year, we overcame adversity and came together as a team to execute the best possible plan going forward. I am proud of the job our faculty did last year and am thankful for the opportunity to lead this school district.

Communication is going to continue to be a yearly focus. Our administrative team utilizes the school district app which you may download for free through Google Play or iTunes. In addition, we also have a Twitter account @bpt_bulldogs (Bridgeport School District). The district updates our website regularly and sends out a bi-weekly newsletter through our district app. We also utilize an all call system to reach out to our parents and students. Please make sure your contact information is up to date and feel welcome to update your information (address, phone number, etc.) through One View. This way, we can make sure that you are well informed of all that is going on throughout our district.

Thank you again for entrusting us with your children. It is an honor to serve our students, parents, community members and alumni. Together, we will continue to hold Bridgeport the place to be. I wish you all the best of health, joy, gratitude and persistence as we continue to do what is best for students. Thank you, have a great school year and as always, Go Dogs!
