Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District. On behalf of the school board, administration, faculty, staff, and students, I want to thank you for entrusting us with your children. The district has the pleasure of serving approximately 800 preschool through 12th grade students in Belmont County. We are a district that puts students and learning at the forefront of all that we do. Our professional development is directly aligned to what our students and faculty need most in order to continue to be successful.
We continually look for ways to provide our students with a safe, inclusive and supported learning environment.  Our students grades K-2 have access to iPads, and all students in grades 3-12 are given a school issued iPad at the beginning of each school year to use throughout the year.  While we strive to stay at the forefront of technological advances in education, our focus remains on quality teaching and relationship focused instruction.
From the moment you step foot into our school district, you will notice that we accept all students and encourage each individual student to fulfill their fullest potential. Culturally, we believe in our students and are committed to producing great people for our community.
As we enter the 2021-22 school year, I would like to remind everyone that the district is not mandating masks at this time; however, we do agree with what the health experts are saying in that masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Last year, we were able to significantly slow the spread.  For this reason, we are strongly recommending that anyone who is not vaccinated wear a mask while at the school in order to protect yourself and others.  The only mandated mask area at this time is on our school buses.  All students, drivers and adults riding school buses must wear a mask whether or not you have been vaccinated.  The district will also continue with increased cleaning protocols, hand sanitizing and proactively, we have installed a school wide ionization system with the help of ESSR funds.
I want to wish all students, staff and administration a great year.  This year is yours for the taking.  May you make the most of each and every opportunity.
Thank you, make it a great year and as always, Go Dogs!
